Online blackjack is a card game that's part of any gamer's balanced breakfast. If you haven't dabbled with a “hit me” or two we dare say you haven't lived. This is a game that should be up there with chess and checkers – the advantage going to blackjack because we've never seen anybody walk away from a game of chess 10 grand richer.

Also, you can only enjoy one version of chess or checkers, blackjack has variety. In fact, we've lost count on the amount of different ways you can play the game. But how or where can you try the blackjack remixes? The Bovada Casino is your best bet.

Though there isn't every different version available we haven't seen the blackjack variety the Bovada Casino provides anywhere else.

Pontoon

Check out our favorite unique blackjack games ready to play in the Bovada Casino:

At first glance Pontoon seems just like standard blackjack but a with a fancy British name: the objective is for a player to come as close to 21, without going over, while still having a higher total than the dealer. Cards 2 through 10 are face value. Jacks, Queens and Kings are all valued at 10. Aces can count as either 1 or 11 whichever is more advantageous.

The biggest/oddest variation is if you're dealt five cards without busting players in Pontoon are awarded the win with any five-card total of 21 or less. The drawback of this rule: If the dealer happens to get the same he will be awarded the victory every time.

If you've never been to the U.K. give yourself a taste of London with a game of Pontoon.

1-Deck Blackjack

1-Deck Blackjack is hard to find in casinos, mostly because it's a layup for card counters.

As “easy win” as the game seems to be, there are some rules that players need to know about:

  • Deck re-shuffles after every round.
  • Players can only play one hand per round.
  • Dealer Hits on Soft 17 (Example: A,6).
  • Blackjack pays 3:2, providing the dealer does not also have blackjack.
  • Insurance pays 2:1.
  • Split equal value cards once.
  • Following a Split an Ace and a 10 only pays 1:1 odds, not blackjack odds.

The rules do take away some of the advantages having a single-deck game has. However Single-Deck still has the best theoretical return to players of all the blackjack games at Bovada. And you can test-drive it for free. Why not try it?

Face-Up 21

This version of Blackjack is exactly as it sounds, all the cards are face up. Remember those days when you wanted x-ray vision to know what the second card in the dealer's had was? Face-Up 21 makes you Superman.

Obviously being able to see both the dealer's cards has its advantages but keep in mind there are other differences that balance out your odds of winning: Face-Up 21 is played with eight decks not six. “Blackjack” pays even money, not 3:2 like in the standard game and the dealer wins all ties except “Blackjack.”

But who can complain? You get to see what the dealer has before going all in.
