How to Play Mama Juju: Book of Voodoo

The Book is the symbol you want hanging around. It can stand in for regular symbols on a winning line, but land 3 or more anywhere on the Reels and it also opens 8 Free Spins.

Free Spins pick one regular symbol to become the Expanding Symbol. Get enough of that symbol across the Reels and every matching Reel fills up, even when they are nowhere near each other. Four or more Books during the feature add another 8 spins and bring another symbol into the expanding pool.

Mama Juju: Book of Voodoo Game Highlights

  • Wild/Scatter Book: One symbol does both jobs, substituting in regular wins while also triggering Free Spins when 3 or more land.
  • Growing Expanding Symbol Pool: Free Spins begin with one chosen Expanding Symbol, but retriggers can keep adding more until all 9 regular symbols are eligible to expand.
  • Feature Boost & Bonus Buy: Feature Boost increases the chance of reaching Free Spins, while Bonus Buy can start the feature with 1, 2, 4, or 8 Expanding Symbols already active.

Game Review of Mama Juju: Book of Voodoo

There are skull charms, glowing potions, voodoo dolls, candles that probably should not be that green, and the Book sitting in the middle of it all doing two jobs at once. The base game is fairly old school, maybe a little too old school if you want constant fireworks. Most of the personality is being saved for Free Spins, and that is where the game starts earning its keep. One Expanding Symbol is useful, several of them are where things get properly messy. Retriggers can keep adding new symbol types to the pool, and because the matching Reels do not need to sit next to each other, an ugly looking screen can suddenly fill out into something much better. The dream setup is obvious: keep retriggering until half the paytable seems capable of taking over a Reel.
