It’s a shame they have to play each other in October, instead of at a major bowl game. The No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-0 SU, 5-1-1 ATS) will visit the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-1 SU, 4-3 ATS) this Saturday, kicking off at 3:30 PM ET on FOX, and it should be one of the best games on this year’s NCAAF betting schedule. For the first time this season, Penn State will assume the underdog role; the Buckeyes are 6-point favorites at press time after opening at –6.5 online. They’ll need every ounce of home-field advantage they can squeeze out of the Horseshoe.

There’s plenty more where that came from on Saturday’s Week 9 NCAAF odds board. Here are some of the other key games to watch for, all times 0Eastern:

No. 11 Oklahoma State Cowboys at No. 22 West Virginia Mountaineers (noon, ABC)

The Mountaineers (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) are one of five Big 12 teams in the AP rankings, but they might be the weakest of the five, and they’ve dipped from +8 to +7 on the NCAAF lines. Each of their last four meetings with Oklahoma State (6-1 SU, 4-3 ATS) went Under; Saturday’s total is down from 74 to 73.

No. 14 NC State Wolfpack at No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3:30 PM, NBC)

Whether you love or hate the Irish (6-1 SU and ATS), they’ve played much better football than NC State (6-1 SU, 3-4 ATS) through eight weeks. Notre Dame is a 7.5-point favorite vs the Wolfpack and they're riding a five-game winning streak SU and ATS.

No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs at No. 25 Iowa State Cyclones (3:30 PM, ABC)

Iowa State (5-2 SU, 6-1 ATS) pulled off big upsets over Oklahoma and Texas Tech; now the Cyclones face their toughest test yet in the Horned Frogs (7-0 SU, 4-3 ATS), who have fallen to –6.5 after peaking at –7.5 on the college football betting board. The total is 49.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at No. 7 Clemson Tigers (8 PM, ABC/ESPN2)

The Yellow Jackets (4-2 SU, 6-0 ATS) were so close to being perfect straight up and against the spread, suffering each loss by a single point. Tech could end any hopes the Tigers (6-1 SU, 4-3 ATS) still have of defending their National Championship; however, Clemson is coming off a bye week, and they’re 14-point favorites at press time, down from –14.5 in the open.
