Many sports fans are familiar with the concept of a round robin tournament, where each team plays every other team once. The concept of round robin betting works much the same way. When you have a certain number of NFL lines that you want to parlay, you can put them all together at once – or you can use those lines to make multiple smaller parlays that include every possible combination of the lines you’ve chosen.

What Are NFL Round Robin Bets?

An NFL Round Robin bet takes the NFL lines you want to bet on, and turns them into multiple parlays, which spreads the risk around, making it more likely that you’ll win at least one of your parlays. You can choose between three and eight different NFL lines, then put them in parlays of anywhere between two and seven teams – as long as you have more lines than teams.

For the simplest example possible, here are three hypothetical NFL betting lines from a typical week in football:

Seattle Seahawks –4
Denver Broncos +2
Cleveland Browns +13

If you were to parlay them, each line would have to win for you to get paid. When you use the round robin option, you instantly create all three possible two-team parlays:

Seattle Seahawks –4
Denver Broncos +2

Denver Broncos +2
Cleveland Browns +13

Seattle Seahawks –4
Cleveland Browns +13

With these three teams, you get paid if Seattle and Denver win, if Denver and Cleveland win, and if Seattle and Cleveland win.

How are NFL Round Robin Payouts Calculated?

Payouts for NFL round robins are calculated exactly as if they were separate standard NFL parlays. If all the teams in one of your combo bets prevail, you win that bet. If any of them lose, the bet loses. Anytime a line results in a push or is graded "No Action", that line is removed and the parlay reduces in size by one team – or becomes a single wager in case of a 2-team parlay.

Looking at the above example, if you were to place a single online bet of $300 using all those lines in a 3-team parlay, you’d be paid out at nearly 6-to-1, but all three teams would have to cover. Using the round robin betting format, you could make three separate $100 bets, one on each of the three 2-team combos; each winning combo would pay out at roughly 2.6-to-1. Your total payout will be smaller if all three teams cover, but if one of the teams loses and the other two win, you’ll still come out $60 ahead, instead of losing the entire $300.

How Do NFL Round Robin Bets Work?

To place your NFL round robins, choose the betting lines you want to parlay at Bovada Sportsbook, then select “Round Robin” on your Bet Slip and choose how many teams you want in your parlay. Enter how much money you want to bet for each parlay, and the software will do the rest. You can edit your selections as you see fit before finalizing your wager. Of course, you could make these individual parlay bets yourself, but using the round robin option is a much faster way of doing things – especially if you have eight NFL lines and you want to make every possible 4-team parlay available. That’s 70 different parlays. Find out more about these NFL round robin bets by consulting the Help section at Bovada Sportsbook; we’re available 24/7 to help you with your sportsbetting needs.
